BOD Meeting Minutes
May 6th, 2015
The meeting was called to order at 7:09pm
Board members present were: President: Leslie Smith, Vice President: Bill Melendez, Treasurer Jim Sutton, Directors: Debbie Moss, Anne York & Katherine Rich-Elzig & Past President: Margaret Rich Absent were:Secretary: Vandi Reeves (excused), & Director: Faye Hall (excused) Committee members present were: Barb DuBois, and Jenny Morgan
The April Minutes were presented by AnneYork for Vandi Reeves. A motion was made by Bill Melendez to accept the minutes, seconded by Debbie Moss and approved by the board.
The treasurers report was presented by Jim Sutton. Taxes have been filed for 2014 - both State and Federal. Jim clarified that we are a 501c5 and that any donations made to our club are not tax deductible.
A Membership report was given by Jenny Morgan. Rancho currently has 88-1yr regular adult members, 24-three year members, and 4-lifetime members, Making 116 adult voting members, 24-youth members (-1) and 2-Associate members. For a total of 142 members.
A Youth report was given by Leslie Smith. The youth are planning on attending the ACS show on May 16th and the Region One youth judging competition at the end of May.
A Spring Horse Show report was given by Margaret Rich. Next years show will be held on Easter weekend, March 24 - 27. Problems with EMT and vet response time were discussed.
Fall Horse Show/HH2H The BOD discussed the need for more club member involvement. It is important that we make a profit this time. HH2H demos will be interspersed as well as Baroque Horse classes.
Newsletter: Barb DuBois expressed concerned about the members requiring mailed copies of the newsletter receiving theirs, as she had not received her April/May issue yet.
Programs: Debbie reminded us that Dr. Megan Le Fave would speak at the next meeting on Thursday, May 14th. Please contact Debbie Moss at DebraGMoss@msn.com with any ideas for guest speakers or to RSVP for a dinner meeting.
BBQ Committee needs volunteers. Date: July 11th at Green Acres Ranch
Bill Melendez has stepped down to alternate delegate so now Kathy Callahan Smith will be representing us at the National Convention as one of our RCAHA delegates.
Anne York mentioned that the DAV meeting supporting the trails in Temecula will be held at City Hall on May 7th. Margaret explained the current situation.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Margaret Rich, seconded by Debbie Moss and approved by the board at 8:38pm.
