RCAHA Recognized Youth Members
Congratulations to our very own,
on his nomination for APAHA Jr Working Western Horseman of the Year!
A few words from Ryan's mother...
I can't put into words the feeling of admiration and gratitude I have that my son, Ryan Melendez, has been nominated for the APAHA Jr Working Western Horseman of the Year. This past show season I saw my son's dreams finally come true. He has worked hard since the age of 6 to accomplish all that he has in the arena this past year. The most amazing moment this past year was when he reached the highest of recognition when he was awarded National Champion in the Western Horsemanship. He did this on the horse he grew up with and the one who taught him that winning wasn't going to come easy and she certainly made him earn every ride he had on her over the years! It was their first National victory and it was together! The relationship the two of them formed is what taught Ryan the true meaning of working hard, determination, patience, overcoming odds, perseverance and above everything... The bond of Love that an Arabian horse has to share. Not only did they win that class together they also were Reserve National Champions in trail and Reserve National Champions in Sport Horse in Hand. The ultimate definition of the versatile Arabian:) As a proud mother I would like to shamelessly ask for you to vote for Ryan Melendez as I know he will not self promote himself on such a platform. He is nominated with some extremely talented youth and again its an extreme honor for his nomination and he and his entire family are beyond grateful. On top of those wins he also was Reserve National Champion on his best friend Rocky in the 1/2 Arab West Pl on the same horse I bred and showed to a National Championship 11 years earlier! Along with being named National Champion in the Freestyle Reining! I can't thank Jessica Tozer Bein and of course Bill Melendez for everything they have and continue to do to help guide Ryan to not only the successes he has had in the show ring, but also molding him into the young man he has become outside the ring:-) he is beyond blessed to have so many who have supported him along this journey called life... Thank you Arabian horse community!!! It takes a village and this one has been amazing:-)

Congratulations to our Vice-President,
for earning the RIDER OF SUPREME HONOR CHAMPION award 2014 from the Arabian Horse Association!
The Amateur Achievement Awards Program recognizes outstanding amateur riders. These awards are presented to amateurs that have achieved outstanding records through the accumulation of points earned at qualified shows. Thousands of amateurs compete in a variety of disciplines each year, but few reach the levels that warrant receiving the prestigious Amateur Achievement Awards.
Saylor also earned the "RIDER OF HONOR CHAMPION" award in 2013 and is working hard towards the next level of achievement.
